Dr. Dan Belliveau, MD - Medical Director

Dr. Dan Belliveau is the Medical Director for TLC Laser Eye Centers in Halifax, Nova Scotia. TLC Halifax provides laser vision correction for the Atlantic Provinces.

Dr. Belliveau obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Université de Montréal in 1991. He then completed an Ophthalmology specialty at the Université de Sherbrooké in 1996. This is where Dr. Belliveau received his first training in refractive surgery. Dr. Belliveau has been extensively trained in both the LASIK and PRK Excimer laser techniques and has performed several thousand refractive laser procedures since 1997. Dr. Belliveau is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Belliveau is in a comprehensive ophthalmology practice in Halifax specializing in laser refractive surgery (LASIK and PRK), and intraocular lens implants. He is also a lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology at Dalhousie University having an active role teaching eye surgery in the residency training program

Tom Carton, OD - Clinical Director, TLC Halifax

Originally from Bridgewater, N.S., Dr. Carton grew up in the United States. Following two years of engineering studies, he graduated from Saint F.X. University with his B.S. in 1972. Dr. Carton's education then led him to study psychology at Dalhousie University and pre-medical courses at Tufts University in Boston. He graduated from The New England College of Optometry with his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1979.

While a student in Boston, Dr. Carton was chosen as his school's delegate to the American Optometric Association Congress and earned a membership in The Gold Key International Optometric Student Honor Society. After completing his residency at Walter Reid Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. he joined a busy private practice in Oromocto, N.B., where he spent 20 enjoyable years in general practice.

While in private practice in Oromocto, Dr. Carton developed one of the largest laser management practices in Eastern Canada. He has extensive experience in laser consultation and surgical management.
