Dr. Eugene Gabianelli is a highly respected board certified ophthalmologist, specializing in LASIK surgery and corneal transplantation. He began performing LASIK in 1995 as a co-investigator of the Summit Omnimed laser, during initial FDA LASIK trials. He has amassed extensive LASIK experience including use of Summit, Nidek and VISX excimer laser systems, and has taught courses on corneal disease and LASIK surgery to hundreds of ophthalmologists and optometrists from the United States and abroad.
Dr. Gabianelli attended Dartmouth College earning a B.S. Degree. He graduated from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. After medical school, he completed his internship at Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago and was named Chief Resident during his first year of his ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago. Following his residency, he chose a surgical fellowship in cornea, refractive, and cataract surgery with a private group in Hartford, CT. This group performed the first trials of laser vision surgery in the United States.
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Gabianelli moved to Atlanta where he was named Medical Director for the Atlanta Medical Eye Center. He practiced there for seven years before founding Georgia Eye Partners. He currently performs surgery at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Northside Hospital, Metropolitan Hospital, Crawford Long Hospital, Atlanta Outpatient Surgery Center, and South Fulton Medical Center. He is Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology at St. Joseph's Hospital and a member of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology's Leadership Council.
Dr. Sandy Carman is a graduate of Southern College of Optometry and received his undergraduate degree from Southern Adventist University. Dr. Carman has a successful private practice in Marietta, Georgia that he established 20 years ago. He specializes in LASER vision correction, contact lenses and ocular diseases. Dr. Carman joined the TLC team in 1999 and became the Clinical Director in January of 2003. He has extensive training in LASIK surgery and is also trained on the new CUSTOM wavefront technology.
Dr. Carman is an active member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
