Bradley Don Britton, M.D. - Medical Director

About Dr.Britton
Brad Britton, M.D. joined TLC Laser Eye Centers in 1996 as Medical Director at our Oklahoma City location. A native of Oklahoma, Dr. Britton specializes in corneal and refractive procedures with an emphasis in Laser Vision Correction and cataract surgery.

Following completion of his undergraduate degree at Oklahoma Christian, Dr. Britton received his medical degree graduating with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 1987. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the prestigious Alton Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, LA. In 1991, he completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the same hospital and was awarded Outstanding Resident in his class. Dr. Britton returned to his native state in 1991 where he joined a large multi- specialty practice serving as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology. In 1996, Dr. Britton opened his private practice, Britton Vision Associates, servicing central and western Oklahoma.

Dr. Britton has established an excellent surgical reputation having performed thousands of refractive procedures. He serves as a member of the TLC Laser Eye Centers International Board of Directors and was recently recognized as one of the top 50 laser vision correction surgeons in North America. Dr. Britton is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

About Dr.Taylor
Bradley D. Taylor, D.O. is a refractive surgeon affiliated with TLC Laser Eye Centers in Oklahoma City. Graduating Cum Laude from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Biology, Dr. Taylor went on to receive his Doctor of Osteopathic Medical Degree with honors from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth.

His intern and residency training was performed at the Tulsa Regional Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He completed a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at the University of Texas in Houston in 1988. After returning to Oklahoma, where he spent his childhood, Dr. Taylor became one of the primary surgeons in a thriving ophthalmology practice, where he established an excellent reputation.

Being a trained cornea expert, he has devoted much of his time to studying refractive procedures since 1992. In addition to refractive surgery, Dr. Taylor performs a broad array of ophthalmic microsurgery, including advanced “no-shot, no-stitch, no-patch” cataract surgery for glaucoma and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids.

Dr. Taylor is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, the Eye Bank Association of America, and has recently been names Co-Medical Director of the Lions Eye Bank.

Edward D. Jones, M.D.

About Dr.Jones
Edward D. Jones, M.D. is a refractive surgeon affiliated with TLC Laser Eye Centers in Oklahoma City since 1998. Certified in the VISX S4and Ladarvision 4000 Laser systems, Dr. Jones is an accomplished surgeon specializing in laser vision correction and anterior and posterior segment laser surgery.

Dr. Jones graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1991. Following his internship training at the University Transitional Program, he completed his residency at the Eye Foundation Hospital - University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Jones returned to private practice in his hometown of Oklahoma City in 1995. He is a well known and respected authority on the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease.

Board Certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Jones also holds the distinction of being a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the American Medical Association.

J. Christopher Freeman, O.D., F.A.A.O. - Clinical Director

Dr. Chris Freeman, Clinical Director of TLC Oklahoma City, specializes in the evaluation and management of vision correction surgery patients. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of patient care, including the proper selection of laser vision correction candidates, planning surgical treatments with the surgeon and patient education. He also coordinates the optometric co-management and education programs for the center, including the optometric residency program. Dr. Freeman is considered an expert by his peers in the field of refractive surgery and has more than a decade of extensive vision correction surgery experience.

Education/Training
A native of the Midwest, Dr. Freeman received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Missouri State University. He then attended The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree with clinical honors. While in New England, Dr. Freeman trained at the New England Eye Institute, the Veterans Administration Medical Center in White River Junction, Vermont, South Boston Community Health Center, and the Naval Ambulatory Care Center at the Naval Education Training Center in Newport, Rhode Island.

Following completion of his optometric degree, Dr. Freeman was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Hunkeler Eye Centers in Kansas City, Missouri. While at Hunkeler Eye Centers, Dr. Freeman was an investigator and sub-investigator for several independent and FDA clinical research trials at the Hunkeler Vision Research Center. Dr. Freeman's clinical research ranges from new vision correction lasers and non-laser technology like conductive keratoplasty and intrastromal corneal rings, to dry eye, contact lenses, and pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Freeman's eye care experience is far-reaching. Before being invited to join TLC Laser Eye Centers, he held the faculty position of Instructor of Ophthalmology at the prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Prior to that he was Director of Optometry and Clinical Research at the foremost laser vision correction center in Austin, Texas, and earlier, Chief of Optometry and Director of Refractive Surgery at a renowned ophthalmology practice in Dallas, Texas.

Membership/Affiliations
Dr. Freeman is a member of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), the American Optometric Association (AOA), Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians (OAOP), Texas Optometric Association (TOA), and is an initial member of the Optometric Council on Refractive Technology (OCRT), for which he serves as co-chairman of membership. He is also past Secretary and past President of the Central Texas Optometric Society (CTOS).

Honors/Accomplishments
Dr. Freeman, who is a vision correction surgery lecturer and author, has been named one of America's Top Optometrists by the Consumers' Research Council of America. He has been invited to speak at national meetings and symposia about vision correction surgery, ocular disease, and new technology, including the inaugural meeting of the Optometric Council on Refractive Technology (OCRT) in 2004. Dr. Freeman has earned the honor and distinction of Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO).
