Dr. Maria Scott is a board-certified ophthalmologist at TLC Laser Eye Centers in Annapolis. She is considered one of the area’s finest and most skilled surgeons and was the first surgeon in Annapolis to treat patients with the laser vision correction procedure. She has performed over 10,000 laser vision correction procedures since 1996 when the laser was first approved. In addition to performing laser vision correction surgery, she currently trains and supervises other ophthalmologists in laser vision correction.
Education/Training
Dr. Scott received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed her ophthalmology residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC where she served as chief resident.
Accomplishments
Dr. Scott was listed in Washingtonian Magazine as one of twelve top LASIK surgeons in the area and was named a VISX Star Surgeon, an honor received by the top five percent of laser vision correction surgeons with the highest surgical volume in the United States. She was also named top Ophthalmologist in the area by Anne Arundel Medical Center Physicians (What’s UP Annapolis Magazine, October 2005 and October 2007).

She is also a member of the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Women Leaders, and the American College of Eye Surgeons. In September 2011, the Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors voted to approve Dr. Scott as a member of the board.
