Dr. Melinda O'Rourke

About Our Doctor

Dr. O’Rourke has performed LASIK and PRK since its approval from the FDA in 1995. Dr. O’Rourke is an accomplished surgeon with extensive knowledge in the treatment of eye diseases, as well as routine eye care. She has been board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1991.

Education/Training
Dr. O’Rourke received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She then received her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and continued post-graduate training by completing her internship and residency programs at the University of Colorado. Dr. O’Rourke has continued ophthalmic research at the university since her graduation.

Memberships/Affiliations
Dr.O’Rourke is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Colorado Ophthalmologic Society, the Colorado Medical Society, and the Clear Creek Medical Society.  She is also a member of several distinguished academic honorary societies including Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha..

Honors/Accomplishments
Dr. O’Rourke’s research has been published in Archives of Ophthalmology and in the Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Dr. O’Rourke actively volunteers at the Stout Street Eye Clinic, assisting with the homeless in metro Denver; and with Vision Health International, providing eye care to those in need in Latin America.

Dr. David Drucker

About Our Doctor
Dr. David Drucker, a native of Brooklyn,New York, has practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in Denver for over 20 years. He is active in the Denver medical community, serving on the staff of all major Denver hospitals, and he is affiliated with most insurance plans.

Dr. Drucker has successfully performed refractive surgery for more than twelve years and has had LASIK surgery himself. Dr. Drucker's son and daughter were so impressed with their father's result after having vision correction surgery, that they decided to have the procedure for themselves.

Education/Training
Dr. Drucker received his Bachelor of Science degree from Muhlenberg College in 1968. He completed his medical degree at State University of New York and his formal training in Ophthalmology in 1976 at Downstate Medical Center.

Memberships/Affiliations
As a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmologists, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Drucker keeps abreast of the latest developments in medicine and surgery of the eye. His philosophy, Personal Excellence in Eye Care is exemplified by his commitment to stay involved in every aspect of his patient's eye care.

Hobbies
Dr. Drucker and his wife live in the Hilltop area of Denver and have four children. His hobbies include taking care of tropical fish, losing money in the stock market, watching movies with his family and cheering for his children on the sidelines. He also enjoys running, basketball and snorkeling.

Dr. Gary Bircham

About Our Doctor
Dr. Bircham has been participating in the co-management of LASIK and PRK since its FDA approval in 1995. Dr. Bircham is an experienced optometrist with extensive knowledge in general eye care, treatment of eye disease, and refractive procedures. He has been licensed by the the Colorado State Board of Optometric Examiners since 1989.

Education/Training
Dr. Bircham received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from Colorado State University. He then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Optics and a Doctorate of Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Bircham completed optometric externships at Letterman Army Hospital, Mare Island Naval Facility, and Travis Air Force Base.

Memberships/Affiliations
Dr. Bircham is a member of several distinguished honor societies including Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Beta Sigma Kappa.

Honors/Accomplishments
Dr. Bircham received the J. Howard Bailey Award for the best O.D. thesis in administrative science in 1989.

Personal
Dr. Bircham grew up in Colorado Springs where he attended and graduated from Doherty High School in 1981. His family has been involved in the local business community since 1970. He and his wife, Belinda, have two children, Nathaniel and Cassie. Dr. Bircham and his wife both have had very successful LASIK procedures. Dr. Bircham underwent LASIK in 1999, and Belinda in 2006. Both enjoy better than 20/20 vision without eyeglasses or contact lenses. Dr. Bircham enjoys spending time with his family, playing chess, going camping and fishing.
