Dr Richard L Lindstrom is a board-certified ophthalmologist and internationally recognized leader in corneal, cataract, refractive and laser surgery. He has been at the forefront of ophthalmology's evolutionary changes throughout his career, as a recognized researcher, teacher, inventor, writer, lecturer and highly acclaimed physician and surgeon.
Education/Training
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, Dr Lindstrom completed his doctorate degree in medicine in 1972. He conducted research, residency and fellowship training at the University of Minnesota and affiliated hospitals and extended his fellowship training at Mary Shield Hospital in Dallas and as a Heed Fellow at University Hospitals in Salt Lake City.

In 1980, Dr Lindstrom returned to the University of Minnesota, where he spent ten years on the faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology, the last two as a full professor and the Harold G. Scheie Research Chair. He continues as an Adjunct Professor Emeritus at the University of Minnesota. He is also medical director of TLC Vision, Midwest Surgical Services, and associate director of the Minnesota Lions Eye Bank. Dr. Lindstrom has served on the Executive Committee of the ASCRS in positions of Chief Financial Officer, Secretary, and Vice President. He will be incoming President of ASCRS in April 2007-2008. He is the Chair of the Corporate Gifts Committee of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is Chairman and CEO of Lindstrom Cleaning and Construction, a three-generation family business.
Honors/Accomplishments
Dr Lindstrom holds 32 patents in ophthalmology and has designed a number of intraocular lenses and instruments that are used in clinical practices globally. He serves on the Board of Directors of TLC Vision, Occulogix, eyeonics and the Minnesota Medical Foundation, and Inner City Tennis. A frequent lecturer throughout the world on cornea, cataract and refractive surgery, he has presented over 37 named lectures and keynote speeches before professional societies in the U.S. and abroad most recently giving the Benedetto Strampelli Medal Lecture in Rome, Italy, and the Albrecht von Garefe-Vorlesung Innovator's Lecture in Nuremberg, Germany in May 2006.
Dr Lindstrom serves on a number of editorial boards, including JCRS, JRS and OSN, OSN International, OSN Latin America, and OSN Japan where he is Chief Medical Editor. He is the Honorary Editor-in-Chief of the U.S./Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology. He has co-edited three books, published over 350 journal articles and 60 book chapters. His professional affiliations are extensive, including Global Education Director of the American Academy of Ophthalmology for refractive surgery, past President of the International Intraocular Implant Club, past President of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, and is a member of the American Ophthalmology Society. He is the recipient of numerous awards for distinguished service by national and international ophthalmology associations, including the LANS, Barraquer and the first lifetime achievement award from the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the Binkhorst Lecture Award from the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Paton Award from the Eye Bank Association of America.
Dr. Elizabeth Davis is an ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery.
Education/Training
Dr. Davis completed her doctor of medicine degree at John Hopkins University School of Medicine, graduating first in her class. For her ophthalmology residency, she attended Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. She then completed sub- specialty fellowship training in cornea, external disease, refractive surgery, and glaucoma. She ranked in the 99th percentile on her Ophthalmology Board examinations.

Thomas W. Samuelson, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, as well as laser vision correction of refractive disorders.

Dr. Samuelson completed his medical degree at the University of Minnesota and his residency training at the University of South Florida as chief resident. He finished sub-specialty training at the renowned Wills Eye Hospital at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Samuelson is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Glaucoma Society and has served on its Executive Committee. Dr. Samuelson serves as a scientific reviewer for several ophthalmology journals.

Dr. Samuelson has contributed research toward the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, especially the exfoliation syndrome and management of coincident cataract and glaucoma. He also has performed research on the safety of LASIK in patients with other ocular disorders, especially glaucoma. A frequent lecturer nationally and internationally on ocular surgery, he is actively involved in the training of residents, fellows, and practicing ophthalmologists. Dr Samuelson has published numerous scientific manuscripts and textbook chapters on ophthalmic surgery.
Dr. Hardten is an ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in corneal, refractive and laser surgery.

Dr. Hardten completed his doctor of medicine degree at the University of Kansas, after which he served a three-year residency in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota. He completed a subspecialty fellowship in corneal and refractive surgery and external medicine of the eye at the University of Minnesota, Phillips Eye Institute, and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Honors/Accomplishments
Dr. Hardten has an active clinical practice in Ophthalmology. Dr. Hardten lectures on eye disorders, corneal and refractive surgery at both national and international conferences. Dr. Hardten specializes in the treatment of corneal and ocular disease, refractive surgery and corneal transplant surgery. He has special interests in excimer laser and the laser in-situ keratomileusis (LASIK) procedure, and has published many articles and chapters concerning refractive surgery. He is a member of the Clinical Advisory Board for TLCVision.
Dr. Patrick J. Riedel is a board-certified partner of Minnesota Eye Consultants, PA. He is fellowship trained in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma and cataracts. In addition, he is specifically trained in multiple refractive surgery techniques such as LASIK, PRK, and refractive implant lenses.
Education/Training
Dr. Riedel graduated magna cum laude from Carleton College in 1987 where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He continued his education by attending the University of Minnesota Medical School. While there he received multiple scholarships for merit, and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society in his third year. He served as the president of this organization during his last year of medical school.
After completing an internship year at Hennepin County Medical Center, he then pursued his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Iowa, consistently ranked one of the top five ophthalmology training programs in the nation. He served as chief resident during the last six months of his residency.
Dr. Riedel continued his sub-specialty training, completing a glaucoma and cataract surgery fellowship at the University of Utah John Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, and has been in practice since 1998.

As an assistant clinical professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Riedel is actively involved in the clinical and surgical education of residents and fellows. He is an instructor in ocular pharmacology at Regions Hospital, and a consultant for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Minneapolis. He frequently lectures to local and regional ophthalmologists and optometrists and serves as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology, the credentialing organization for physicians seeking to practice ophthalmology.

Additionally, he has authored numerous scientific articles and ophthalmology textbook chapters and is actively involved in research and teaching.
Dr. McLemore graduated from the University Missouri-St Louis School of Optometry where she did externships with the Kansas City V.A. hospital and military. She served in the United States Navy as an optometrist while stationed at Pearl Harbor and the Marine Corps Base Hawaii. She has worked with numerous cataract and LASIK surgeons for over 10 years, co-managing surgery as well as practicing primary care optometry. Dr. McLemore is a member of the the American Optometric Association, the Minnesota Optometric Association, the Optometric Council on Refractive Technology, and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry.
