Dr. Belliveau obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Montreal in 1991. He then completed an Ophthalmology specialty at the University of Sherbrooke in 1996. This is where Dr. Belliveau received his first training in refractive surgery. Dr. Belliveau has been extensively trained in both the LASIK and PRK Excimer laser techniques and has performed several thousand refractive laser procedures since 1997. Dr. Belliveau is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Maillet received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology & Immunology from Dalhousie University in 2001. His studies were focused on the particular fields of inflammation and healing. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2005.
