"I have worn glasses from 1976 to 1979, and hard or gas-permeable contacts from 1979 until the surgery last year. From the first day, even though I was still wearing the funny plastic eye shields with holes, I could peek through some of the holes and see CLEARLY for the first time since I was a little girl! I just wanted to look and look and look and ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I could, just to prove to myself that I could see it clearly now without contacts or glasses.. My husband and family are pretty active people, and I always felt somewhat like an anchor on the fun because I had to worry about my contacts washing out in the ocean or pool, or worry about getting dirt in my lenses, or worry about losing them or breaking them. What a pain in the neck!...I don't have to worry about the hassle or expense of replacement or discomfort of something going wrong with contact lenses.Both the surgical staff in La Jolla and the follow-up staff at my regular optometrist's office have been just great!...They made a somewhat scary process as clear and simple as possible.I love life without corrective lenses! I am so glad I finally had LASIK surgery! I only wish I could have afforded it earlier! Thanks for letter me share what a positive change LASIK surgery is for me!"
