Our Doctors
Kevin T. Lavery, M.D. - Surgeon
I became a doctor because...
It is easy to have a true love and passion for the field of ophthalmology. I am a member of one
of the most fulfilling professions in the world. I have the opportunity to work with great patients,
the best trained staff anywhere, and use the latest in technology--all in the name of sight!
Through surgeries like Cataract and True CustomLASIK, we are currently able to perform
seemingly miraculous surgeries, not only restoring sight, but also improving vision. We are still
challenged by certain eye diseases, but there is tremendous hope. New developments allowing
us to treat macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and even eliminate the need for reading
glasses are on the horizon.
My vision is making a difference to those around me
Vision is clearly one of the most precious senses. It is such a joy
maintaining and restoring sight, especially in patients who have been
told elsewhere, Nothing can be done. Throughout my career, I have
been given the great honor and responsibility of treating many patients
with only one sighted eye, as well as performing surgery on dozens of
doctors and colleagues who have chosen me to correct, enhance or
restore their vision. My goal is to treat every patient as an individual
and help them to maximize their visual potential to meet those needs.
You have entrusted us with your sight and we are committed to
providing you with the ultimate in quality care. I am blessed with the skill
and expertise to treat the most challenging of cases. I also strive to
have the humility to understand that I do not have all of the answers,
and will seek consultation when necessary.
Innovation leads to better care
Our group of doctors consists of extremely dedicated individuals. We
are constantly asking, How can we do this better? - researching new
techniques and pioneering new procedures, in order to offer our
patients the best quality care and experience anywhere. We are involved
in many clinical trials, and major ophthalmology companies seek our
advice and input when developing the next generation of technology. We
are often asked to provide education to the ophthalmology community,
presenting our research and demonstrating our techniques in many
forums. We are not, however, just teachers and researchers, but
students too, as we constantly seek to learn and grow.

I became a doctor because...
"I was attracted to ophthalmology because it allows me to help patients enormously and have a
positive effect on their lives in a very short period of time. I'm also committed to research the
newest, most effective techniques. And I continue to assess ongoing innovations in technology
and procedures, because nothing less than the very best will do for my patients."
My vision is making a difference
to those around me
Good vision is vital to your enjoyment of so many things in life. That's why you want the best possible care to correct or restore your vision. You also want a doctor who listens to you, who understands your concerns and who always puts your needs first. You want a doctor you can trust. That's just the kind of care you can expect from me. Innovation leads to better care. We were the first group in this area to do no-stitch, no-shot, no-patch, no-restrictions cataract surgery. We also use the latest techniques for diagnosing and treating glaucoma and macular degeneration. In addition,
we participate in various clinical trials which keep us abreast of
the latest technology and treatment options.
