Lee A.Hofer, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Lee Hofer, Medical Director of TLC Laser Eye Centers in Eau Claire, is one of the areas most experienced LASIK surgeons having performed more than 9,000 LASIK procedures. He began performing LASIK in Eau Claire in January 1999 at HealthSouth Oak Leaf Surgery Center. In July 2002 he founded Eau Claire LASIK, the first laser refractive surgery clinic in west central Wisconsin, now known as TLC Laser Eye Centers.

Education/Training
Dr. Hofer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and his medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, and his ophthalmology residency through the University of Minnesota of Ophthalmology. Dr. Hofer received advanced training and certification in laser refractive surgery in 1997 from Drs. Charles Casebeer and Lanny Hale in Milwaukee, WI where he performed LASIK surgery from August, 1997 to December, 1998.

Memberships/Affiliations
Dr. Hofer is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery as well as other national and state medical societies.

Thomas M.Harvey,M.D.

Dr. Thomas Harvey is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and licensed in Wisconsin. He has performed hundreds of refractive procedures and has expertise in laser vision correction, incisional astigmatism reduction, phakic lens implantation, and refractive lens surgeries. His core goal is to provide the safest, best quality of vision correction for the patient considering surgery.

Education/Training
Dr. Harvey graduated with honors in genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was Chief Resident. After residency, Dr. Harvey received specialty training in cornea, anterior segment, and refractive surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Memberships/Affiliations
Dr. Harvey is currently a member of several organizations, including: the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the State Medical Society of Wisconsin, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Wisconsin Alumni Association.

Honors/Accomplishments
Following medical school, Dr. Harvey was awarded the Outstanding Transitional Year Resident Award during his internship at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Harvey's ongoing participation with national committees for cornea and refractive surgery reflect his commitment to excellence in these fields. For three consecutive years, he served on a missionary surgical team in Honduras. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Harvey has various research interests, including lamellar corneal transplantation.

Dr. Chad Vieth, O.D.

Dr. Chad Vieth, Clinical Director/Executive Director of TLC Laser Eye Centers in Eau Claire and Meonomie, is a Wisconsin native from the Fox Cities town of Neenah, just south of Green Bay. He has been involved with the evolving field of LASIK surgery since 2000, and has managed and planned thousands of corneal refractive procedures. Dr. Vieth is a kind, sincere and approachable person who always strives to provide the highest quality, personalized care to each of his patients.

Education/Training
Dr. Vieth received a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Vieth continues to receive the most advanced training in refractive surgery through TLC's rigorous Clinical Director Program.

Memberships/Affiliations
Dr. Vieth is a member of the Wisconsin, Minnesota and American Optometric Associations. He is licensed to practice optometry in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota.

Honors/Accomplishments
While at Southern College of Optometry, Dr. Vieth was recognized with several clinic and academic scholarships. During his internship with the Alaska Native Hospital, he was involved with advanced ocular surgery and provided eye health care to remote villages.
