Gregory A.Christiansen, M.D.

Training
Gregory Christiansen, M.D., received his medical degree at the renowned Medical School at the University of Utah in 2000. Following an internship at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Christiansen went on to complete his ophthalmology residency training at the prestigious Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. He received further training in anterior segment surgery (front of the eye) at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, in 2005. He also completed specialized refractive surgery training, including certification on “all-laser” LASIK using bladeless technology.

Experience
A board certified surgeon, Dr. Christiansen specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of the eye. After completing his advanced training, he spent two years practicing ophthalmology in Southern Oregon before joining the TLC Laser Eye Centers experienced group of refractive surgery specialists. Having performed more than a thousand microsurgical procedures, he specializes in LASIK, cataract and glaucoma surgery. Dr. Christiansen has been actively involved with research and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.

Memberships
Dr. Christiansen is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.

Interests
In his leisure time, Dr. Christiansen enjoys outdoor activities, including mountain biking, camping and sailing with his wife, Kathy, and their three children.

Dawne R. Griffith, O.D. Clinical Director, TLC Portland

Dr. Dawne Griffith has specialized in refractive surgery for the majority of her years in practice since receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1995 from Pacific University. She earned a Bachelor's in Chemistry from Southwest State University in Minnesota in 1991. Dr. Griffith has received awards for Clinical Research and Clinical Excellence.

Dr. Griffith has the advantage of having had LASIK herself and can explain the procedure to patients from her own personal experience. When Dr. Griffith is not at TLC, she can be found working at Pacific University College of Optometry or playing ice hockey with her husband.
