Like many of my patients, I had been interested in LASIK for years before I had the procedure done in November 2009. What started the ball rolling for my procedure was actually a conversation I had with a patient who was about to have LASIK.  They were nervous and I was telling them how safe the procedure was and how I had seen nothing but excellent results from Dr. Wexler at TLC.  The patient then asked, "Well, why haven't you had it done?"  I couldn't answer the question, I didn't know why I had not had LASIK when I knew it was a good option for me.  I spoke with Dr. Polk at TLC the next week and I was on my way to being glasses-free.

In April of 2011 I finally decided to have LASIK. 

I finally decided to have LASIK. After wearing glasses and contacts for nearly 30 years. Over the years I have worked with thousands of patients who have had LASIK and have to say I have yet to meet one who regrets it. When considering a LASIK center for my patients, I have always recommended TLC Laser Eye Centers in Edina. TLC uses the best technology, has a very caring staff, and skilled surgeons who tend to be on the cautious side when making the decision to recommend surgery (which for a doctor that will be caring for these patients in the future is greatly appreciated).

I first considered getting LASIK when my eye doctor suggested it because of an underlying condition I have.  About 3 years a go I was unable to wear my contacts due to irritation from papillary conjunctivitis.  Throughout the past 3 years I have seen multiple different eye doctors to get different opinions on how to treat my eye condition so that I could tolerate wearing contacts.  I spent hundreds of dollars on prescription eye drops and office visit co pays ans was still suffering from papillary conjunctivitis.  Throughout those 3 years I was dependent on wearing glasses and they were driving me crazy because I had to wear them all the time.  When I first considered LASIK I was hesitant because of the price.  Once I got my consultation at TLC, the staff there was excellent and made my decision easier.  I had my surgery on September 24, 2010 and I am so happy with the results.  My vision is great and I don't have to worry about glasses anymore.

I started wearing glasses approximately 10 years ago due to difficulty reading the over head projector in high school.  At that time my need for glasses was very minimal, usually only for classroom use.  However about 3-4 years ago I noticed that I was becoming more and more dependent on my glasses to see at a distance and for driving at night.  After about a year of wearing my glasses on a daily basis I decided to try contact lenses so I made an appointment with my eye doctor.  Once I found out I was set up with contacts I became happy with the idea of having the choice to wear glasses or contacts.  Unfortunately after a bout a year and a half of trying contacts I gave up because my eyes became very dry after about 3-4 hours.  Along with the dryness my eyes would begin to feel as if they had sand in them.  Slowly I began to stray way from contacts, and eventually I was back to wearing glasses on a daily basis.  Throughout the years of vision correction attempts, LASIK eye surgery had come to mind once in a while.  However the finance aspect was always a concern.  Finally this past summer my brothers girlfriend had the bladeless procedure performed by Dr. Wexler and was ecstatic with the results.  This really struck my interest to investigate further.  I began to ask about the procedure and the cost, and once she told me about the financing option I was hooked.  My friend provided me with the contact information and a referral coupon she had received after her procedure, and within a few months my appointment was made.  I fortunately never felt the need to look into other facilities and or doctors because the experience Valerie Bush described to me was extraordinary.  Also she instulled a postive feeling in me about Dr. Wexler and the experience he possesses in this profession.  I had my procedure performed on 10/22/10 at 10am.  I was back home by 12:30pm and was seeing better than what I had ever seen before by 6:30pm that same day.  Now a little over a month and a half later, I am so happy I made the decision to have LASIK eye surgery.

I had been wearing contacts and glasses for 17 years.  I had been interested in getting LASIK surgery ever since my co workers had the procedure done at TLC St. Louis 2 years ago.  I had my surgery and now have 20/15 vision.  Having LASIK surgery at TLC is truly one of the best things I have ever done.  Thank you Dr. Wexler and staff.

I have worn glasses since I was 12.  I had thought about having LASIK done but was afraid.  Finally at age 37 I bit the bullet and went for it. I couldn't be more pleased with my results!  The staff and doctors could not have been more friendly, helpful, and supportive.  I had so many concerns going in because my eye sight was so poor (my contact prescription was -7.50), but I am seeing 20/15 now water surgery!  It was quick and I had no discomfort after surgery.  This was on of the best decisions of my life.  Than you TLC!

After wearing contact for eleven years, I knew I didn't want to spend the redo of my life dealing with them.  At 21 years old I had many years before I would even need reading glasses.  A family friend referred me to TLC and I decided to book my consultation.  I felt confident that LASIK was a great solution for me.  Although I was very anxious and nervous the day of the surgery everyone at TLC helped me relax and feel at ease.  Dr. Wexler assured me everything was going great during the procedure.  I was amazed how well the surgery worked.  In a matter of hours I could see the clock across the room.  I love being able to see without the hassle of contacts or glasses, the results of LASIK are amazing!  I would recommend anyone thinking about LASIK to boon and appointment with TLC!

I believed myself to be a typical candidate for LASIK I was very nearsighted, to the point that I never took out my contacts unless it was to put another pair in.  I know it was not healthy for my eyes, but I never really seemed to have any problems and for me it seemed like a better alternative to waking up and not even being able to read the alarm clock!  It was when I went to Dr. Harvey at Advanced Eye Care that she finally made me understand the consequences of leaving my contacts in 24/7.  I went into the procedure knowing how great the outcome should be….but I honestly NEVER expected the results to be this instantaneous and fantastic!  It's a freedom that only contact and glasses wearers could understand.  A few hours of mild discomfort was most definitely worth a lifetime of great eye sight.  I would recommend the procedure to anybody.  Also, I should mention my experience with TLC staff was none other than excellent.  They were so nice and accommodating and made me feel very comfortable every step of the way.  Thanks TLC….if I had the chance to do it over again the exact same way……I would!!

I had been waiting years to have LASIK, waiting for the right technology to arrive.
