Every day I now appreciate how well I can see. I no longer have to squint to see when I’m tired, don’t have the hassle of packing my glasses when I travel, and can fall asleep without worrying about removing my contacts. Since I wake up for work very early in the morning, every extra minute of sleep is valuable. Now I can simply get up and go without fumbling around in the dark, trying to find my glasses.
My vision is better than I’d expected. Before laser vision correction, driving at dusk, in the dark or bad weather could be somewhat stressful. Since surgery, I’m a more confident driver.
As a former Olympian and a current swim coach, my eyesight has always been important. I put off having laser vision correction for years and now wish I’d done it sooner.
I wake up every morning in disbelief and go to bed every night thanking the doctors and staff at TLC. The gift of good vision is one I treasure.
