Education 

I started practicing ophthalmology in 1981 after earning my medical degree at Bowman Gray school of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and completing my residency in Ophthalmology, at the University of Southern California, USC. I am a Board Certified Ophthalmologist with over 25 years experience in refractive surgery starting with Radial keratotomy (RK). I was chosen as one of only 50 surgeons in the U.S. to be involved with clinical trials of the implantable Contact Lens (Visian iCL). I chose to specialize in laser vision correction, Laser in-situ keratomileusis, known as (LASIK) and refractive lens implant surgery to help patients with their most important sense - their sight. I have performed over 30,000 primary LASIK procedures.

As medical director of Kobe Laser Center in Tokyo and Kobe, Japan, I have taught foreign ophthalmologists the art of LASIK as well as lectured and instructed on laser vision correction throughout the United states for other ophthalmologists. I am a national consultant for AMO, Alcon and Allergan medical corporations which enables me to share my expertise in ophthalmology with ophthalmologists all over the world.
