Richard Nattis

Dr. Nattis has been performing laser refractive surgery since the FDA approved it in 1995. Having performed thousands of laser procedures, he is a specialist in microsurgery of the eye. He has been trained to perform CustomLASIK and is certified to use the VISX, LadarVision and Intralase lasers. His patients, many of whom are doctors and their families, have enjoyed consistently excellent outcomes with laser refractive surgery.

Education/Training

After graduating New York Medical College, Dr. Nattis completed his Ophthalmology residency training at St. Vincent’s Hospital Medical Center in New York. He now specializes in Cataract, Refractive and Eye Laser surgery and is medical director of Lindenhurst Eye Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Nattis has been recognized in the book titled, “How to Find the Best Doctors in the Tri-State Area” for the past five years. He has also been awarded the Physicians Recognition Award by the AMA. Dr. Nattis is actively involved in teaching both medical students and practicing physicians on a regular basis. Dr. Nattis lectures regularly to community groups as well as writing articles for many newspapers and magazines.

Memberships

Dr. Nattis was appointed to the position of Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at Good Samaritan Hospital in 1991. Dr. Nattis has been elected to serve on the Medical Board of Directors of the Eye Bank of New York. He has been appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.
