Robert C. Arffa

Dr. Robert Arffa specializes in laser vision correction and cataract surgery and has performed more than 25,000 procedures. Dr. Arffa is Board Certified and has been involved with refractive surgery since 1984, proudly serving the Pittsburgh community since 1986.

Education

Dr. Arffa graduated from Cornell University and received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Connecticut. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Indiana University and his fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans.

Accomplishments

In addition to his position as Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Arffa is Medical Director for Medical Eye Bank of Western Pennsylvania. He has authored a widely used textbook on diseases of the cornea, and numerous research articles and reviews.

Memberships

Dr. Arffa is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and an Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology.
