Schultze![]() Education A Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Schultze received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in 1994 where he was distinguished with the Lamport Biomedical Research Award. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Schultze furthered his education with specialty fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the Albany Medical College. He now serves as Director of the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Fellowship Program as well as the Director of Medical Student Ophthalmology Education. Dr. Schultze serves as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery at the Albany Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology as well as Medical Director of the Albany Lions Eye Bank. He was the first area surgeon to perform a CustomLasik and a blade-free LASIK on a Capital District patient and has performed over 6,000 successful refractive procedures. His refractive experience dates back to 1998 when he was one of the first fellows in the country to obtain training in the field and actually perform laser refractive surgery. Dr. Schultze's continued focus lies in maximizing patient outcomes and satisfaction while maintaining a strong rapport with his patients.
