Santiago Villazon Jr.

Education

Dr. Villazon graduated cum laude from Yale University and went on to Yale University School of Medicine where he received his medical degree. He completed his residency training in ophthalmology at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Villazon was selected for a surgical fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Boston University Medical Center. Having this intense corneal training makes Dr. Villazon uniquely qualified to perform laser vision correction. He is currently one of the most experienced laser surgeons in the Greater Boston area.

Memberships/ Accomplishments 

Dr. Villazon is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and lectures and writes on many ophthalmic subjects especially related to the cornea. He is also a member of the International Society of Refractive Surgeons, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition to his work at TLC Laser Eye Centers, Dr. Villazon is Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Boston University School of Medicine and an Affiliated Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the New England College of Optometry.

Dr. Villazon is fluent in Spanish. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, windsurfing, scuba, piano and guitar.
