Scott L. Jaben

Dr. Scott Jaben is one of the most experienced surgeons in the region, having performed more than 10,000 LASIK procedures! Dr. Jaben is proud to offer Custom Wavefront LASIK and Bladeless LASIK using the IntraLase Method. He has performed LASIK procedures using the best excimer lasers in the world, including the Bausch and Lomb Technolas 217, and the VISX Star S4 Smoothscan excimer lasers.

Education/Training

Dr. Jaben received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal diseases fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, one of the premiere eye centers in the United States. He also served as chief resident and a clinical instructor on the faculty there.

Honors/Accomplishments

Dr. Jaben established a successful private practice in Charlotte in 1982 and later merged with Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, P.A. in 1997. Soon after, he became the Medical Director at TLC Charlotte. He is a respected ophthalmologist who has given many lectures and provides training to eye doctors at refractive conferences throughout the state. Dr. Jaben is active in civic organizations in the Charlotte community.

Memberships/Affiliations

Currently, Dr. Jaben is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and an active member in the Mecklenburg County Medical Society. Dr. Jaben has served as a director on the executive board of the Mecklenburg County Medical Society, twice Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Carolinas Medical Center, Chairman of the Board of the Charlotte Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and a member of the Diabetes Coalition of Union County.
