White Plains LASIK Reviews

Ten days ago, I swallowed hard, and did something that I had been contemplating and researching for nearly 10 years. All I can say is that I should l have done it sooo much sooner! (It is the sixth best decision of entire life.)

I am sitting here, with naked eyes (yes, it probably sounds strange to many) reading everything on the shelves of my TV room: book spines, board game boxes, DVD spines. It's miraculous! I'm sitting here with my feet in bling flip flops and I can see the individual stones, stitches that hold down the sequins AND my toes clearly. I hadn't been able to see my toenails without bending at the waist to "touch my toes" or bending at the knee and bringing my foot toward the side of my hip while seated, since I was about nine years old.

I had Bladeless CustomLASIK eye surgery. As I was repeatedly examined, the specs of each eye's diameter, topography, and, of course, prescription were stored on an USB that would feed the data to the computer that would then guide the laser for the incision. In less than 18 minutes each eye's cornea and lens were adjusted. I'll be forthright: there was discomfort right after the surgery, but comparatively minor. I was alleviated with numbing drops as I was checked about 45-60 minutes after the procedure, but that was it. (I had fallen asleep during this interval.) The post-op care was more tedious (not painful) than anything pre-op and during op.

I can see distance. I can see screen (18-24 inches), I have reduced glare hence better night vision for driving, and best of all I can do a quick read of print! The bonus, for me, is that I can also do puzzles (my hobby, and therapy). For the last three and half years I've had tri-prescription progressive glasses, along with wearing contact lenses in which each lens had a different purpose simultaneously: one targeted myopia; the other, presbyopia. Ingenious how medical science can compensate for these discrepant deficiencies, and even more astounding and declarative of the power and creative genius of God, how the human brain is so malleable that it adapts, and interprets and accommodates the visual messages it receives regardless of distance.

This has been an incredible experience. I highly, highly, did I mention HOW highly, I esteem Dr. Andrea Kaiser, my optometrist of many years, and Dr. Jodi Abramson, Medical Director and surgeon who performed my vision adjustment, and, Dr. Kaiser's. Beside skill, the staff at Dr. Abramson's suite is knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and warm and welcoming. (When you are thinking about letting anyone "laser zap" your eyes . . . what's left of them . . . all of this matters.

This has been a dream come true!

NB Dr. Abramson, and her husband, both have performed the procedure on each other!
