Dr. Lee A. Hofer

Dr. Lee Hofer, Medical Director of TLC Laser Eye Centers in Eau Claire, is one of the areas most experienced LASIK surgeons having performed more than 20,000 LASIK procedures. He began performing LASIK in Eau Claire in January 1999 at HealthSouth Oak Leaf Surgery Center. In July 2002 he founded Eau Claire LASIK, the first laser refractive surgery clinic in west central Wisconsin, now known as TLC Laser Eye Centers.

Education/Training

Dr. Hofer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and his medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, and his ophthalmology residency through the University of Minnesota of Ophthalmology. Dr. Hofer received advanced training and certification in laser refractive surgery in 1997 from Drs. Charles Casebeer and Lanny Hale in Milwaukee, WI where he performed LASIK surgery from August, 1997 to December, 1998.

Memberships/Affiliations

Dr. Hofer is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery as well as other national and state medical societies.
