As Chief of Refractive Surgery at Clarity Refractive Services, Dr. Fox cares for patients throughout the metropolitan area for the full spectrum of refractive procedures including Femtosecond laser astigmatism treatment, Visian ICL implants and the surgical management of Keratoconus, including Intacs and Laser Corneal Transplantation. With over 30 years of experience in the field, he is widely regarded as a national leader in corneal and refractive surgery.
Education/Training
Dr. Fox was a Merit Scholar and an Honors graduate from Colgate University. He received his medical degree at Hahnemann Medical College where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Following a residency in Ophthalmology at Boston University Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive surgery at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he continues to be a member of the corneal staff. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American College of Surgeons and the New York Academy of Medicine.
Achievements
Dr. Fox is recognized as one the nation’s foremost experts in corneal transplantation surgery and has introduced Femtosecond laser transplantation technology to the New York metropolitan area. He is also recognized as an expert in the treatment of Keratoconus and offers referred patients Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking treatment and the implantation of INTACS intrastromal rings to improve visual function for this group of patients. For those patients out of range for Laser Vision, Dr. Fox performs Visian ICL surgery at the Clarity Surgical Center . He is has been a featured lecturer at the national meetings of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Fox is a writer, educator and researcher in the field and has innovated techniques in surgery and instruments used by colleagues worldwide.
In addition to multiple citations in the field of Refractive Surgery, Dr. Fox has been featured in Elle Magazine and has made multiple television appearances including ”The View”, “Good Morning America” and the CBS Evening News where he has appeared as a national expert in Laser Vision Correction.
