Dr. Benjamin Kuhar is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in advanced refractive and cataract surgery. He provides comprehensive vision correction solutions, utilizing the latest techniques in LASIK, PRK, SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction), and Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) procedures. Dr. Kuhar has extensive experience treating high-performance patients, frequently performing vision correction surgery for active members of the U.S. military.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Kuhar is a leader in academic medicine. He currently serves as the Associate Program Director of the Ophthalmology Residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and holds the position of Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Through these roles, he is dedicated to the mentorship and training of future military eye surgeons. His contributions to the field have been recognized with multiple honors, including the Major General Byron Steger Research Award and the Army Commendation Medal.
Dr. Kuhar creates a patient experience defined by precision, safety, and compassion. He leverages state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical technology to customize every treatment plan, ensuring optimal visual outcomes for his patients.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Kuhar maintains an active lifestyle through cycling, running, tennis, and pickleball. A New England native, he and his wife are passionate fans of Boston sports.
