As a committed partner in optometric education, TLC Laser Eye Centers is dedicated to helping promising optometry students advance in their careers. This year, our company launched its TLC Laser Refractive Excellence Scholarships for third- and fourth-year optometry students who demonstrate clinical excellence in laser refractive technologies.
The scholarships were awarded to three students and included $5,000 in scholarship money, a travel stipend to attend the 2019 OCCRS event in San Diego and the special opportunity to spend a day with one of our expert clinical directors. This year’s recipients were Terynn Chan of Pacific University, Joshua Falk of Health Sciences College of Optometry at Western University and Diana Nguyen of Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University.
Selected from an elite group of optometry students, Chan, Falk and Nguyen each submitted a creative and informational video essay about what inspired their clinical interest in laser vision correction and the benefits of the procedure to patients’ lives.
TLC Laser Eye Centers has partnered with optometry since 1993 and is proud to support the next generation of eye doctors. Over the last 25 years, more than 12,000 affiliated eye care professionals have worked with TLC, and more than 7,000 doctors have trusted their own eyes to the LASIK surgeons at TLC.
The inaugural TLC Laser Refractive Excellence Scholarships help solidify the important relationship between educational institutions in optometry and the leading provider of laser vision correction in North America.
