Dr. Michael Manning
Dr. Michael Manning is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist recognized as a leader in cataract and refractive surgery. After graduating as valedictorian of Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida, Dr. Manning earned a Bachelor of Arts at the Rollins College. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine internship at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and then Ophthalmology residency training at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, where he was selected as Chief Resident.
Dr. Manning specializes in vision correction surgeries including All-Laser LASIK, Photorefractive Keratectomy and Advanced Surface Ablation, Phakic Lens Implantation (often referred to as Implantable Contact Lenses), Refractive Lens Exchange, and Cataract and Lens Replacement Surgery and is currently serving in TLC Laser Eye Centers – Tampa, FL. Dr. Manning has served as a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator in a number of medical and surgical eye care studies, particularly those focused on optimizing patient’s visual outcomes with cataract and lens implant surgery.
Dr. Manning has given presentations at both national and international Ophthalmology meetings. He has been a regular instructor at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has co-authored publications including a textbook chapter in the highly esteemed Albert & Jakobiec’s Principles & Practice of Ophthalmology. When not seeing patients, he enjoys outdoor activities, traveling and photography.
